USA Softball stands with our fellow National Governing Bodies and amateur sports organizations in ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all. USA Softball’s top priority continues to be keeping our athletes safe. Simply put – USA Softball will not tolerate ANY abuse whether it is physical, mental, emotional or sexual.

In an effort to further protect our members, USA Softball has implemented a Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy (MAAP), which is part of a congressional mandate that limits one-on-one interactions between minor athletes and adults who are not their parent/legal guardian. These policies, which were developed by the U.S. Center for SafeSport, further assist in the protection of minor athletes.

So what do USA Softball’s MAAP cover? Topics such as one-on-one meetings/training, social media, electronic communications (such as text messages and email), and travel are just a few of the areas that this policy addresses. They are designed to protect both minors and adults, and sports across the country are enacting similar measures.

To assist you in understanding and implementing these requirements, please visit our website go.teamusa.org/2ZG2Nlb  go.teamusa.org/2ZG2Nlb  go.teamusa.org/2ZG2Nlb to review USA Softball’s MAAP. If you have questions, please reach out to USA Softball at SafeSport@USASoftball.com.
